Background

The East African Community Youth Organization (hereinafter referred to as EACYO) is a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit making Organization. The organization was inaugurated at the Arusha International Conference Center (AICC) Tanzania during the first EACYO Congress, in November 2007 as an initiative of enthusiastic young people from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.

Subsequently, this initiative led to the establishment of the East African Community Youth Organization - Uganda Chapter (hereinafter known as EACYO-UG).

EACYO-Uganda Chapter therefore is a young people’s initiative intending to involve youth in Uganda in the realization of the East African Community and exploitation of shared opportunities for the benefit of the East African peoples.

EACYO-Uganda Chapter is anticipated to work with and in support of other  East African Community Youth Organization Chapters and EAC Organs.
